Expecting the Unexpected

The man whispered, “God, speak to me” and a meadowlark sang. But the man did not hear. So, the man yelled, “God, speak to me” and thunder & lighting rolled across the sky. But the man did not listen. The man looked around and said, “God, let me see You” and a star shined brightly. But the man did not see. The man shouted, “God, show me a miracle” and a baby was born. But the man did not notice. The man cried out in despair, “Touch me God, let me know You are there” whereupon, God reached down and touched the man. But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

God is always around us. He is there in the little and simple things we so often take for granted. Even in our electronic age…so, here is one more: The man folded his hands and prayed, “God, I need You”…and an e-mail arrived reaching out with good news, encouragement and a blessing. It said…

"The good news is that God loves you. Don’t miss out on His blessings because they are not always packaged the way you expect them to be. Expect the unexpected, and have a blessed day in the Lord."
